I’ve always been interested in bones and how we move. How when you stand on one leg we don’t fall over. Then I learnt more about bones and how complex they are and how they constant change do to use walking around on them. So for my PhD I researched if we could use stem cells (cells found in the marrow in our bone) to regenerate bone in the lab. After my PhD I found out that there was a lab in Dublin using 3D printing to generate implants for bone repair. I had always been interested in 3D printing and this job had both 3D printing and bone repair. I applied for a job and I got it.
