• Question: In the future do you think it will be possible to create an artificial heart?

      There have actually already been several artificial hearts created and used in terminally ill patients. The current limitation is that these devices cause blood clots, which can cause death, and therefore they don’t serve their intended purpose of keeping people alive.

      It will most likely be possible in the future to design an artificial heart made of the same materials as a real heart. However, a lot more research needs to be done on how all the cells and materials in the heart grow and interact together.
