Great question! A simulation is a way of testing a real-life thing on a computer. So for example, on a computer we could build a model of the heart, and if we know enough about the physics, we can “simulate” a heart beat. The final result will look like an animated movie of a heart beating, but it also gives us loads of information about the forces and movements in the heart.
